New things to experience

So to give you a little picture of our new life....around our community is a loop we often are walking.  To the right it goes on a wooded path...where people will hunt for iguana!

Here is to the big hill we have to walk up to get to the school!  The school is close by, but first you have to conquer this hill.  Most of the locals zigzag it to get up it each day.  We have discovered our stroller does not make it up, or at least the stroller pushers can't make it up:)

And here is the iguana our neighbors found and cooked for dinner!   In Haiti we ate goat, cat, pigeon...but iguana we have not yet gotten to try:)

Lol, I was waiting for a picture of that hill! When David and Elle Belt spend time there on a mission venture, Elle had just recovered from foot surgery! She talked a lot about it, but I never really got the "picture!"
I love your opening statement. How true of you precious loving servants of Jesus!

    1. I know...I thought we would be out and about a lot while Brice was at work...but I realized that since the stroller can't make it up and the kids can't and I can't carry all 3 up....we have to wait till Brice is here to make it up:)

  5. Be very happy that hill is now paved... when we lived in the house above yours it wasn't paved. Think rain, mud, and that incline; I don't know how many times I ended up sliding down covered in mud and hurt. And yes zig zagging is the best way to conquer steep hills.

Hope to see you guys this year when we come back to St. Vincent for our yearly visit. Keep up the good work!

I would love to get together!!! When are you coming? You can impart all your wisdown on this newbie here:)
And....before it was paved, wasn't there a shortcut to the school without going up the hill?

  7. We haven't bought ticket yet so I do not have a concrete date. I will let you know as soon as we get our plans finalized. I do not know about wisdom but I will give you information that will help (hopefully) :)

The shortcut would have been before they did that concrete wall around the house and there wasn't another house back to the left. We used to walk over the fence back there and down behind the field that backs to the school. Since then there have been houses and walls built. From what I saw last year all short cuts have vanished... The hill is it now; sorry.
